The Hive Thai Massage & Wellness

The Hive Thai Massage & Wellness holds a 4.6 rating from 107 Google reviews. The theme clients raise most is the room itself: clean, calm and well kept. Several reviewers also call the price fair for the quality.

Deep tissue work draws the strongest praise. Several clients describe knots and back tension worked out. More than one returns to ask for the same therapist by name.

One longtime regular notes that skill varies between therapists. Their advice is to find a favorite and request that person. The extras in the room, such as hot towels, warmed oil and a heated table, also come up.

The criticism is narrow. One reviewer found a reflexology foot session did little, and felt the therapist was not fully attentive. Couples sessions and Thai massage each earn praise from one reviewer.

The company names Swedish, Thai Aroma and deep tissue massage among its treatments. It says traditional Thai massage is done on a table with the client fully clothed. It lists three price points for each treatment, $139, $179 and $259, and is open 10 am to 9 pm every day.

The company asks clients to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to fill in a short lifestyle questionnaire. It also asks clients to tell the front desk about pregnancy or other conditions before the session.

Per the American Community Survey (2024), utility gas heats 55% of homes in San Francisco.

Pressure is worth a word before booking. One regular finds medium pressure here feels firm compared with other spas. The company says its deep tissue work can leave some soreness before relief sets in.
